The Gruen & Associates story actually begins in 1975. Roger Gruen, who
had been an Information Systems consultant since 1975 and had been
running a successful computer consulting company called Sauer Computer
Systems, began his own business out of necessity. Roger had recently
lost his eyesight and as a result of that the backing of his business
partners. In 1990 he began his own consulting business and with the help
of employees who had been laid off with him from Sauer began Analytix, a
computer consulting firm. He was joined soon after by his son Michael,
and they quickly established a strong record of success. In 1994 Brian
Gruen joined the team and Gruen & Associates was launched to begin a
permanent placement practice. Brian had gained experience in this
business and his experience along with Michael and Roger’s knowledge of
the Information Systems field got Gruen & Associates off to a quick
start.
Having established a strong client base, in the Information Systems
field, Gruen & Associates branched off into other areas of business.
Gruen & Associates began to work in the Market Research field and
shortly after that established a Fashion and Retail group. In the last
few years the Information Systems client base was slowly turned over to
Analytix so that Gruen & Associates could focus on the Fashion, Retail
and Market Research fields.
Today
Gruen & Associates works from coast to coast with clients and candidates
in these fields. We are well connected in numerous markets and
specializations and rely on the method of cold calling and networking
rather than job boards to meet the most qualified people in their
